5.3 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes West Texas

A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck West Texas last night. It was one of a swarm of earthquakes that rocked the area near the Texas-New Mexico border.

The area in which the earthquake struck was approximately 35 miles south of Whites City, New Mexico. The area is between the cities of Midland and El Paso.

This region of West Texas is very underpopulated. So, very few Texas residents were affected by the shaking.
