Texas Houses Passes Bill Banning Foreign Adversaries From Buying Texas Land

The Texas House recently passed Senate Bill 17, a bill that prevents countries we categorize as “foreign adversaries” from purchasing plots of land in Texas.

The bill specifically identifies countries such as China, Russia, Iran, and even North Korea.

SB-17 successfully passed in the House with an 85-60 vote. Now, it needs to be passed on a final reading on the House floor before it's sent to Governor Abbott's office so that it can officially be signed into law.
