Texas Republicans See A Revolution Coming In The Texas GOP
After Senate Bill 2 passed in the Texas House, Republicans across the state are feeling outraged and betrayed.
It is no mystery that Senate Bill 2 received controversy and criticism from both isles of the political spectrum across the state.
Republican State Representatives that represented low-income districts as well as rural districts received feedback from their constituents that they did not support the School Vouchers Bill, but too many state representatives chose to follow the orders of Governor Abbott and not of the people that elected them.
This comes after Governor Abbott received over $12,000,000 last year from Pennsylvania Billionaire Jeff Yass to get school choice passed in the state of Texas.
Additionally, their was the potential of having this bill sent to the people of Texas to vote on it and determine of it was the will of the people, but Governor Abbott and his inner circle ensured that that didn’t happen. Even after the Governor repeatedly stated that this bill was extremely popular statewide.
This has caused for Texans statewide to call for their representatives to be primaried and replaced for obeying the need of the Governor, and not of the people that voted them in.
Many Texans have even announced their run against the represented that they feel betrayed them. For example, Cole Galloway has announced that he will be running for Texas Representative in District 72 to replace Drew Darby.
This feels like the first time in recent years that the Republican Party has been divided and at arms.
