Texas Senate Approves New Map Removing 5 Democrat Seats

The Texas Senate has officially approved a new redistricting map that adds five Republican seats, removes five Democrat seats, and potentially eliminates Jasmine Crockett’s position in Dallas.

Democrats in attendance demonstrated their frustration with the redistricting by staging a walk-out protest.

All that remains now is House approval, and Republicans will have officially gained 5 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
