Texas Senate Passes Bill Banning Sale of THC
Last night, the Texas House passed the controversial House Bill 3, in a 95-44 vote. HB3 will effectively ban the sale and possession of THC products across the state.
SB3 specifically bans Delta 8, Delta 9, and any other intoxicating THC products.
It also prohibits the retail sale of any cannabinoid in the state, with the exception of CBD and CBG.
Adults caught with possession of THC could face up to a year in prison.
Lawmakers have stated their concerns with THC over the fact that thousands of smoke and vape shops have been opening within a 2-mile radius of middle schools and high schools.
Those opposed to the new bill state that THC was valuable to the elderly, veterans, and the disabled community to help manage pain and anxiety.
